Martha Blanchfield

Martha is an avid sailboat racer who regularly competes in San Francisco Bay regatta competitions. Found most often on a 30 to 40-foot yacht, she’s a regular crew member aboard Beneteau 36.7 and 40.7, Schock 35, Express 37 and J boats where she works the main or headsail.

Among her current yacht racing clients, she cites the 4-time ROLEX Big Boats Series champion Double Trouble, a J/125 based

in San Francisco, for which she provides race photography, crew communications, partner programming, plus Web site design. Through her involvement with Double Trouble she learned about Aethic, the Sôvée line and Go Blue Too.

“Sailors, particularly those on San Francisco Bay waters, are very ecology-minded. The crew members and I are honored to share the message to go blue to diminish water pollution at source. While racing at Quantum Key West Race Week 2016 and the Conch Republic Regatta to Cuba we’ll also be protected by Aethic Sôvée, the only sunscreen to have a patented ecocompatible formula, as part of our going blue campaign”

Involved in the digital imaging industry since 2000 as a marketing writer/photographer, Martha creates content for Nikon, BenQ, Latitude 38 and Classic Yacht magazines plus her own RenegadeSailing.com. She is a regular photographer at San Francisco ROLEX Big Boats Series, has covered the pre-Olympics Nacra, 49er, FX competition in New York, the J/24 U.S. Nationals and the Express 37 Nationals in San Francisco. Martha is a member of the Vallejo Yacht Club in Northern California, where she created the Pink Sail for cancer research which ran for its fourth year in 2015
