Tomo Honda was a 3-term elected Japanese politician who once served as the youngest Honourable Councillor of The Fukushima Legislative Assembly in The Fukushima Government since 2005 to 2015 and also was the Executive Committee member for 3.11 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster Relief Management.
Honda was first elected into the Fukushima Legislative Assembly in 2005 by-election to join as the youngest Councillor in the Fukushima Legislative Assembly. Honda was again successfully re-elected in 2007. During his second term , he was promoted to the Deputy chair for the Committee of Public Media Relation and the Special Committee of Tourism Promotion. He has audited the government in 2006, 2008, and 2010.
Immediately after the historic 311 Tsunami and Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident, Honda was appointed as the Executive Committee member for 3.11 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster Management and worked intensely on the frontline to coordinate the logistics for relief supplies, food, and water, interdepartmental communication among several government agencies.
In November 2011, he was successfully elected for his 3rd term to advise The Fukushima Government ‘s finance and public policy for its restoration planning.
He has announced that he would not stand for 2015 Fukushima general election and retire from politics to pursue career in policy research
